Swindon Youth for Christ is a charity that exists to share the good news with the young people of Swindon and to have a positive influence on young people’s lives.

Our ethos
We believe that…

  • people are special and significant – you mean something.
  • God loves people and is concerned about us and our lives.
  • God wants to build people up and see them reach their full potential.
  • God wants to have a relationship with us. So much so, that he sent Jesus to address the problems that separate us from him.

How our ethos influences our work
We believe that…

  • people are special and significant so we want to honour young people and celebrate them as significant and powerful members of our communities.
  • God is concerned about us and our lives so we want to work with others in our community to combat things that destroy potential. Things like poor self esteem, drug and alcohol abuse, and unhealthy relationships.
  • God loves people so we want to love young people. We’re not talking about feelings here but about choosing to value young people and show interest in their lives.
  • God wants to build people up and have a relationship with them so this is what we say. We are not confrontational in this and we never force these beliefs. Neither do we shy away from them.

What we do
We work together with people from all walks of life; the young and the elderly; the rich and the poor; people of all faiths or none… and together we make a difference. We’re involved in a range of events and residentials which all dovetail under a clear vision and distinct strategic aim; everything we do fits together.

At Swindon Youth for Christ the 2 things that keep us driven and on point is our vision and strategy. Check them out to find out how we go about our work in equipping and empowering children’s and youth work across Swindon.
