Love
I think this may be one of my favourite Fruits of the Spirits.
Now, I’m not talking about Disney Prince and Princess love… I’m talking about the unconditional, unwavering and unearned love of God.
John 13:34, “A new commandment I give to you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.”
There are 2 main things I personally take from this…
1 – I am loved no matter WHAT!
By accepting Jesus and God into my life I know that even when things are really tough, when I feel that no one cares, God is always there cheering my name and showing me the most immense love I can never truly understand. But man am I grateful for it <3
2 – I need to show others God’s love.
For some, this is SO easy! I love those times when I am talking to someone, and I just feel a wave of God’s love for them rush over me and sharing that with them always brings such joy to all.
But don’t get me wrong, there have been MANY times in the last 29 years that I have groaned and asked God WHY I have to love certain people… I have been standing in hard situations, praying for God to give me that wave of love for them.
What I love about this gift is that through striving to love others, easy or not, I am able to heal, forgive and move on and support/encourage those around me to do the same.
So, my prayer points for this week are;
1 – I pray that no matter your situation, you can feel God’s immense love for YOU!
2 – I pray that God gives us the opportunities to love those around us, especially the ones we may struggle to love.
