Trust is a massive thing. Every relationship we have is built on the trust we have for each other. Whether its friends, lovers, family and even with God, trust binds everything together. In our life we can only really control the present moment we are in; the past is gone, and the future is yet to happen. I believe that when we reflect on these things, we need to put our trust into God. Trust him to forgive us for any wrong doings in the past, this way we can really put it behind us and concentrate completely on the present. As well as this, we need to trust in him for our futures. Life is too great and precious for us not to have some sort of purpose. I’m a firm believer in what’s meant to be will be and I believe that God is at the heart of that saying. The bible shows that the more faith we put in God and Jesus, the greater joy we are promised. This can be seen in Matthew 17:20,
He said to them, “Because of your little faith. For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.”
If we truly believe and put our faith in God, our lives will be filled with love and joy. As well as this, we grow closer to God and see his true power. God is worth our faith and our trust. For me trusting people can be hard and I’m sure many people feel the same. I remember reading a quote once, it went something like this, “some people don’t really care about you, they just care about the way you treat them and how they wouldn’t want that affection going to anyone else”. That made me realise how difficult it can be to really trust people, to know whether or not they truly care. Trusting in someone and seeing that trust break is truly so difficult, but God doesn’t make promises he doesn’t keep. He is worth the trust and the faith as it can be seen in John 3:16,
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life”.
The faith that we put in God is like a seed, the more faith, attention and nourishment you give it, will enable it to grow and grow until it eventually blossoms. God looks out for us and is always with us, we are never alone in the company of God.
Psalm 23:1-6 “A Psalm of David. The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows”
