Praying through change – Part 3
At this time of year, we can often be faced with change – it’s an inevitable part of life.
Whether it’s changes at work, school, personal circumstances, or anything else, it can often be daunting.
As Christians, we can take comfort in knowing that our faith provides a firm foundation on which we can build our lives on. We can take comfort in knowing that the unchanging God we follow has been faithful through generations. Our God is the same God that was with David when He faced Goliath, the same God that was with Mary when the scared unmarried virgin was told she was pregnant or Daniel who had to trust God with his life.
If He’s been faithful through generations, why would He fail now? He won’t.
One of my favourite songs is Firm Foundations by Maverick City Music and it’s a song that I keep close to my heart, especially during times of uncertainty. Here are some of the lyrics….
Christ is my firm foundation
The Rock on which I stand
When everything around me is shaken
I’ve never been more glad
That I put my faith in Jesus
‘Cause He’s never let me down
He’s faithful through generations
So, why would He fail now?
He won’t
I’ve still got joy in chaos
I’ve got peace that makes no sense
So, I won’t be going under
I’m not held by my own strength
‘Cause I’ve built my life on Jesus
He’s never let me down
He’s faithful in every season
So, why would He fail now?
If God is our firm foundation, we can embrace change with confidence and courage because God will never abandon us.
“I have the strength to face all conditions by the power that Christ gives me.” Philippians 4:13
“Trust in God at all times, my people. Tell him all your troubles, for he is our refuge.” Psalms 62:8
We can trust in God always, in every circumstance, and give whatever you’re worried about to God. I’d definitely recommend giving the full song a listen, have a great week!
