It’s a crazy time right now, for anyone and everyone. All of the Youth for Christ gap years have been sent back home for the foreseeable future, so I find myself waking up in the bedroom where I grew up every day and having to work from there. I’m assured that so many people are struggling with the change of scenery and having to work from home at the moment. In the strangest way, in a time of such distance, I sometimes feel more connected than ever to the work we’re doing.
It’s so encouraging to see the work different churches are doing to continue to teach, communicate and evangelise the word of God. I’m reminded of the story in the Bible of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego getting thrown into the fire. I feel like it relates so much to where we are now, being thrown into a circumstance where we can’t worship in the way we normally would, and we can’t meet in our churches. However, in spite of all this, they continued, and it changed the way so many people saw God. That’s the time we’re in, we have an opportunity to radically change people’s perspective of God, in spite of the difficult time we’re in.
Pray For
- Christians to feel connected in a time of distance
- People who are struggling with working from home
- Churches to continue with a new age of gathering
- For us to be more like the men in the bible story, to stand up for who we are, and the God we believe in
- Peoples minds and hearts to be radically changed about who God is
